Timeline
The timeline allows a user to select a date to find the information on the website. The timeline section is split into years to prevent the list becoming unwieldy. Each entry is in the following simple format. Date - in the form DD Month YYYY e.g. 13 May 1937 Airline - The name of the airline for the event e.g. Highland Airways Short description - A short description of the event e.g. First Unofficial flight to Fair Isle. The date and the Airline are highlighted and left clicking on the link takes you to specific entry on the associated web page. In addition to the weblinks there are many entries that do not have associated links. These are information links about various internal aviation events that did not always impact on mail carrying 25th March British Amphibious Airlines Ltd. Sent souvenir mail. 1st April Hillman Airways opened Romford (Maylands) to Clacton service. 27th June Portsmouth, Southsea and Isle of Wight Aviation began Portsmouth-Ryde ferry service. 1st July Imperial Airways. First War Bond Conversion flight. 26th August. British Flying Boat Company. Sent souvenir mail. 26th September. Norman Edgar began twice daily Bristol-Cardiff service. 15th December. Southend on Sea Flying Services registered
