Provincial Airways - The Pretend Proofs
Proofs are normally highly sought after and very scarce. For some reason this is not the case with Provincial proofs of which there are many. Not an auction goes by without another offering of proofs and they frequently appear on dealer sites. There is also a huge number of different proofs. The reason for this is that the items that are sold as proofs are nothing of the kind. They are specially produced samples of different colour labels which were sold by the airline in packs of twelve.
